I may have said it on here before, but I was severely underwhelmed by Universal Studios. The rides were cool, yes. Hogwarts and Diagon Alley were cool, yes. But around every corner is them trying to convince you they’re just as good as Disney. Which they are not. “Hey! We got pin trading too! We have parades! We have themed queues!” Yet, they always fall short. By a couple miles.

Maybe Nintendo can turn this around.

One thing that always stood out to me is Disney is very protective of their IP’s and making their worlds and Magic Kingdoms feel cohesive. That’s why Disney World works. That’s why the Muppets fit with Disney. Because Jim Henson had those same ideals. This is what Universal lacks and desperately tries to replicate at their park.

Nintendo is very particular with their IP’s as well. So when I heard they were making a stake in the ground at Universal, I was… surprised to say the least…
